What Is Land Application of Biosolids?
Land application can use treated biosolids for soil benefits under applicable requirements.
The material, site, weather, timing, rate, and records all matter. Requirements differ by jurisdiction and program. Operators at the plant may not spread material, but their sampling and process records support the land-use decision. Do not promise that every cake load is suitable for land application.
A field is too wet for planned delivery. Dispatch changes only under the approved storage and transport plan.
Keep loads traceable from plant batch to receiving site. Protect covers and prevent spills along the route.
Field use is not just a truck route. The land manager may control soil conditions, crop limits, setbacks, and timing under the applicable program. The plant's role is to deliver material with traceable treatment and test records. Never infer land eligibility from a previous load.
Key point: Never infer land-application eligibility from a previous load. Plant records support the land-use decision.
